SWITZERLAND - 1976 - Sunday Stamps #20

I decided to start with the Sunday Stamps Project, maybe i find some stamps from time to time :) This Weeks theme wasn't that hard to fulfill as the third theme from the europa stamps was handicrafts.
On the left stamp you see some flower embroidery which switzerland was/is famous for. See more informations at the Embrodery Museum Site
The right Stamp shows a pocket watch from 1890. Our FrenchPart is famous for producing clocks since ages. You may all know the brand SWATCH, that is just one from hundreds (Rolex!) Further Informations: SwissTime

I am glad to see more 1976 Europa stamps. I never knew what they were until I looked up information about my Swedish postcard.

Fantastic handicrafts! The embroidered design is intricate and beautiful. I also love the pocket watch. Swatch is one of my favourite watch brands and I own several pieces of them :)

Happy Sunday!

so great to see you here! and i think that EUROPA's have such a variety of themes, that it wont be hard to find something for each topic.
Im just quite amazed to see how long back these stamps have been issued...Macedonia started issuing them in 1996, but unfortunately, those are not available anymore =/

The original embroidery must be truly exquisite.

Whereas I always associate Switzerland with watches (Swatch my favourite) had never thought of embroidery. Pretty.
